We have sold our place in Casa Grande, Arizona (which we will probably kick ourselves for next winter) and are onto our next adventure. Mid May we will head out for Alaska aboard our boat. We started out to do the same trip more than a decade ago in a 30' sailboat, but realized when we hit the north tip of Vancouver Island that we were too late. So this time we are giving ourselves plenty of time.... May-Sept.

Since the picture you see here, I've enclosed the entire bridge with canvas. It's nice up there now and I'm sure we'll spend more time driving from above. Dick built a crane from scratch to haul the skiff/outboard on and off the boat. You can see it in the picture here, but I'll get some better pixs of it later. He did a great job and it works fabulously!

But first things first.....getting ready, absolutely mind boggling! Charts, C-Maps, tide & current charts, cruising books, reciprocals, Nexis, Wa. Registration, paying bills, internet, medical & dental emergency supplies to name a few. That's just what's on my list. Dick has a whole other set of things to handle: spare parts, new batteries, servicing all the engines, generators and other equipment. Replacing zincs, new bottom paint, making sure everything runs correctly, fishing supplies, etc. We have lists upon lists but intent to get it all accomplished by May. Stay tuned.

New to me Airplane

Just purchased a new to me 1972 Cessna 182 Skyelane, this being a complex aircraft I have lots of learning to do, the plane has the capabilities to fly cross country, I do not...so will work on that...it does once again enable us to go to mainland without the fuss of ferry's...we are so very lucky........
